Latest Updates from Our Project:

Prototypes arrived!

Hi Backers!

Happy June! Things are progressing pretty well with manufacturing still under way.

Although manufacturing was supposed to be completed by the end of May, we ran into a couple of delays. The updated timeframe for the game to be on the boat is July. There were two reasons for the delay: a) the manufacturer hasn't finished printing all of the minis and b) there were issues in the printed copies that I wanted to redo before the game shipped. Specifically, a handful of cards of cards had typos. Nothing game-breaking but, with the delay in mini-printing, I figured we had time to get the cards printed correctly.

I did receive these in the mail last month:

I finally have a new copy of Four Horsemen that I can play again! I've missed having an updated copy. These boxes did not include the minis but did include all of the printed cards, cubes, and other components. The quality ended up being top notch.

One major printing issue was with the neoprene mat for the deluxe buyers. There was a miscommunication on inches vs. centimeters. Here's the tiny map:

Compare that to the prototype, which has the correct size:

That's being fixed, of course.

There are so many cards!

The cards ended up looking super crisp and clear.  Those stacks next to the fanned cards are about three sets high.

One final note - if you are looking for a designer, I highly recommend Gamze Derinoz. She was great to work with and helped a ton. Also, the artists on this game were amazing to work with:  Nicoleta Stavarache (Lots of stuff), Pol Amaya (Heroes and Villains), Fabian Parente (Relics), Ana Maza (Relics), Dagmara Gaska (Chinese), and Frank Freire (Egyptians).

Hopefully the next update has a freight tracking number!

May Update: Proofs and Heroes
11 months ago – Mon, May 06, 2024 at 10:55:03 AM

Hi everyone! Happy May!

I received some pretty cool pictures from Gameland on the printing (below). They promised videos of mini production and assembly soon. I'll have them for next months update. By then, printing and assembly will be complete and it should be on a boat to the distributor. We're still on-track for delivery in August.

Neat! For today's update, I thought I'd share the hero boards from the different pantheons. Each hero's powers are tied to the lore around the hero.

Pledge Manager Closing and Final Components
12 months ago – Thu, Mar 28, 2024 at 07:23:12 AM

Hi everyone!

First, let me thank you all for backing this game. I am so excited to see the pledge manager close and the game prepare for shipping. This has been such an exciting adventure, and I can't wait to share Four Horsemen with the world. I greatly appreciate all of the feedback and excitement I've felt from the community and reviewers.

For this update, I have a new 2-player video I recorded against Pazuzu. He was tough, and we definitely did not play our best game.  We ended up having a lot of fun playing regardless. I hope you enjoy it, despite my camera being a potato!

Here you can see some of the prototype minis. The real ones won't be orange. The manufacturer doesn't dye them for the review pieces. The final ones are the color of their pantheon.

I have one last video from Marcel over in Germany as well. He goes through the pledges and talks about the different levels. Sorry that I don't have more recent third-party ones in English. I sent all of the demos abroad to conferences and reviewers - even my most recent personal copy. I will send out copies for unboxing videos when I get new copies from the manufacturer.

I also thought I'd show some of the final components. For example, this is what an Apocalypse Scenario card looks like.

The Apocalypse Scenarios often have a lot more information on them, depending on the complexity of the demon and how many rules the demon modifies. Here are what a hero board look like.

The world board is where the fun is.

The event cards are double poker size.

Relic cards are poker sized and are played as a Boon, Use, or Sacrifice on the Hero Board.

Thanks again for your patience while we wrap up the production. I still expect them to arrive in August due to transit from China to Europe and then distribution to you all. The end is here!

1 week left until the pledge manager closes and more

Hi everyone,

Also

Yes, its in German but I love this guy. This is full play through against Avarice, which twists Four Horsemen into a deck building game instead of a deck upgrading game. Its a nail-biting finish with great thoughts about the game...if you speak any German.

The pledge manager closes in just over a week. I'm crossing my fingers I have the final minis delivered by next week so I can post them along with the characters.
